Samuel Crane, President and CEO of the Desert Rivers Credit Union in Moab, Utah announced that their Board of Directors voted to offer relief to all Federal Government Employees affected by the shutdown.

The credit union will make a loan of up to $2500 available to all Federal Employees affected at a 0% interest rate for a six-month term signature loan. A second option of a twelve-month term loan is also available at a 6% interest rate. On both loan terms no payments will be due for the first 60 days.

Those affected by the shutdown, that are already members of the credit union, will be offered the following:

    1. Loan “skip-a-payments” at no cost.
    2. Fee waivers for early withdrawal on Certificate of Deposits up to $20,000.
    3. Reversal of overdraft fees for furloughed Federal Employees back dated to December 23, 2018.

Exciting changes taking place at your Credit Union!

Your credit union has been very successful the past few years. We have added a branch to Green River City as well as more products and services for everyone including Shared Branching, Mortgage Services and Credit Cards.

Blanding Branch Ground Breaking

We also have some exciting plans for the future. Sam Crane, President and CEO, announced the ground breaking of our new branch in Blanding, Utah. The plans are for a 2600 square foot facility with a drive-up window and a drive-up ATM. He expects construction will start immediately and the branch at 1 Main Street to be open by next April. The current loan office has moved to 356 South Main Street and will remain open until the new branch is completed.

Name Changed to Desert Rivers Credit Union

Desert Rivers Credit Union, formerly Grand County Credit Union, is now open to members in Grand and San Juan Counties, as well as Green River City. In preparation for this exciting growth, we decided it was to our advantage to change our name effective July 1, 2018.
